Living Above The Fold

Getting back to the basics is one my favorite stress relievers, and still can spark new creative ideas.
Above The Fold, is a book by Brian Miller and will definitely help with new and old designers.
Posts from my Evo #1
Hello all, today I came the realization that I need to blog every chance I get. So downloading wordpress for my Evo is step one in my quest.
After Effects – Beam Fly out effect
Using After Effects and Optical Flares I created this interesting scene, as if the beam was flying into the air.
Adding color to my logo

Such as great use of technology and innovation to reduce paper waste and promote… well the future of magazine design. Using the latest Adobe software, Wired is working on revamping their look with some really cool finger swiping, tapping and pinching features.
Get ready for a whole new flow of technology and information streaming into your home and workplace.
Website Inspiration #2 – www.sanguebom.fr

I’ve seen a lot of websites that integrate music into the background of the websites, but sound designer http://www.sanguebom.fr/ has used music to make the design come to life.
Great work visually and audibly.
Web Trick of the Day #2: Inspect Element via Google Chrome
Ever wonder how that image got placed into the page, or what font face is currently being used? Google Chrome has got your back!
Sample 1: In Google Chome when you right click on any non-flash webpage you’ll see the option to “Inspect Element”
(Sometimes you have to repeat the step to get the image specifically)

In the Elements section of the inspector you can see the code (nice and tidy, like the way your grandma wants you to look on your first day of school!) To the right you can see the styles used written in either the CSS stylesheet or inline code. With that said if the curious side of you wants to see how the big boys play, give it a shot and expand your coding knowledge. Although this is a very powerful tool, please don’t abuse it and steal from someone’s hard work.
Adobe CS5 Coming Soon!
Thanks to the Adobe team, the Adobe Suite CS5 will launch in a few days. After visiting Max last October, I’ve been really excited to see whats to come out of the next release. I think the biggest part of me is psyched to see that you can finally create an App for the iPhone out the the flash platform, coded with AS3 (Start brushing up AS2 junkies). For the photographers and the intermediate Photoshop users, their are plenty of new tools in store for you as well. My personal favorite PS upgrade will probably have to be the extended use of the already amazing Content Aware tools, Content aware fill. An unofficial site cs5.org has a really good example of what I’m talking about.
With that said, you might need to start getting on your bosses or colleagues and have your dollar bills ready for the upgrade. This software is changing rapidly and unless the users do to, it’s only going to get tougher to catch up with the technology allowing us to further create visual masterpieces for client’s or one’s self.

One Bit Wonder
Thanks for pointing this one out Meredith!
Great use of paper to make a fun interactive animation. Very original check it out people and have fun.
Web Trick of the Day
Cell Phone Interface: Else Mobile
Movie Poster Design: Tron Legacy
Today’s App Choice: Mobile Air Mouse
Download this App in theiTunes Store.
Spending eight hours a day on a regular mouse can be pretty boring. I really like that the versatility that this app gives the user. There are several modes that allows you to control pretty much any aspect that a regular mouse and keyboard can offer.
Awesome Designs for iPhone
www.poolga.com Great designs for your iPhone background image.
